This picture was taken on June 5, 2011...Cam has been having some poop problems..he didn't poop for like 5 days, so I was getting a little worried..My pediatrician friend told me to give some a tsp of prune juice and at first it didn't work, but today, he let out a gigantor poop..right after that, he was smiling and was soooo happy..it must have felt so good. Anyways, I am working on taking away his late night feeding...I am a little nervous, because he might be hungry in the middle of the night. I will gradually make his last feeding early around 9pm...wish me luck!

Cameron is getting to be such a BIG boy...he laughs and chuckles a lot. When he laughs, I laugh because it's contagious. We are going for his 4 months follow appt this week, so I will give you the stats...hang tight!

Aunty Jilly comes to visit from San Fran today

The Garvens are arriving this evening from San Francisco...we can't wait!!! Mckenna can hardly contain her excitement...she has everything planned for her cousins..Cameron is looking a little slimmer these days and doing fine with his 5 oz. He is such a good baby!!! How did I get soooooo lucky? He is can fit into 6 months clothes, but I am putting him in 9 mos, because it's more comfy for him. We may venture to Knotts berry farm this weekend, depending on the weather. I cannot tell you how grateful I am everyday to know how blessed I am to have a wonderful husband, 2 amazing children and 2 fur kids along with amazing friends and family to top it off...Enjoy life and make the most of every minute of the day...oh, and do something kind or help someone once a day...it will make the world a better place.

Cameron Smiles

Cameron is now taking 5 oz 4x per day..He's been sleeping through the night with a late night feeding, but I am starting to take away the late night feeding and he seems to be fine. He still sleeps through the night...he gets up around 3am, but he goes back to sleep until 6:30am. We are working on having him turn over and holding his head up. He will go for his 3 months visit, so I will let you know what his stats are...

3 months old-Aunty Alana visits

Cameron turns 3 months old!!! OMG, he's growing up so fast. Aunty Alana was here for 2 days and we had so much fun...we went shopping, and we went to a lot of good eating places, because Alana loves to try new places. We also went to see "Bridesmaids" and she was falling asleep in the theatre...It's always so much fun hanging with my sister..

11 weeks

This is Cameron's 11 week photo..we just went to our 2 month check up and the doctor asked me if he was Samoan?? I said "no", why? Am I feeding him too much??? She said we need to cut back on his feeding..oops!! He was drinking 6 0z every 4 hours 5x per day, so now we do 5 0z/ 5 times per day..He seems to be doing fine on that..He has been sleeping through the night for 2 weeks now..he may get once or twice, but goes right back to sleep..I am loving it! He is talking a lot and smiling..I am trying to get a smily picture, but every time I try, he stops smiling.Stay tuned for more pics

Cameron 9 weeks old

This was his first smiley picture i could take...every time I tried to take a photo, he would make a grumpy face. We had to get rid of all the newborn clothes and start wearing 3-6 months...geez, even the 3 months old seems a bit tight..He is a chunky monkey!1 He's taking now 6 oz per feeding and not quite sleeping through the night, but sleeping a good 5 hours...I am back to work on Monday, so our nanny will be helping us out part time and Craig will take one day off a week to spend with Cam.

Cameron turns 2 months

Oh my goodness, I cannot believe that Cameron turns 2 months old today...Time sure flies when you are busy!! He's getting closer and closer to sleeping through the night..last night he fed at 11pm, got up around 2am for a bit, then slept all the way until 5:30am..Craig and I have been getting lots of sleep..He's taking about 5 oz per feeding and boy is he getting chunky..his newborn clothes are so tight, I can get his feet in there. He is not wearing 3 months old clothes..Mckenna has been helping out a lot by feeding him and making sure he's not crying by getting his pacifier..All in all, this has been pretty easy..For all you mothers out there, am I dreaming?? Does it get worst?

We were all hanging out on Sunday watching tv...Cam is sooooo easy going and let's Mckenna hold him even though she is a little rough holding him..she loves to feed and burp him...he just stares at her..

Cameron turns 6 weeks old

My mom left yesterday, so I am really sad! She was such a big help and gave me lots of good tips over and over again...I wish she lived here! For all you mothers out there, follow the "Baby Wise" book and your child will sleep really good...He is feeding about every 3-3 1/2 hours and taking 5 oz...his last feeding is around 11:30, then he get's up around 2:30 am and doesn't get up until 6:30am...So far, I am not tired or exhausted, but I can feel myself needing a nap, then I get this burst of energy and start my day all over again. Mckenna is back in Karate 3x per week, and gymnastics, so we are driving around a lot after school. I am still keeping up with the 4 workouts, walking the dogs 3x per day and playing soccer. I am sure i will hit the wall soon..

Thanks to Christine and Jackie from Kerlan Jobe...they gave them these knitted hats..I think they knitted it themselves..We love it! Mckenna loves it so much she wears it all day and sleeps with it. On the other hand, Cameron has no choice...I put all kinds of hats on his head and he just has to wear it..My mom comes into town today for a week, so we are looking forward to having her with us. We have a lot of things planned, and I am excited to get out and do things with Cameron...Have a great weekend!

Cameron went for his 1 month checkup and he got a hep b shot and he didn't even cry..the doctor said "how did you luck out with getting 2 good babies in a row"? She told me that he is eating a lot for his age, but don't worry about it. I went out to lunch with him for the first time, and he slept the whole time. He is now sleeping in 3 hour increments, and I am working on pushing that to 4 hours..Craig leaves for Tennessee tomorrow, so I am solo, but up for the challenge. OMG! He sure loves to eat..I hope that I am not feeding him too much. He is eating about every 3 hours and pooping quite a bit! He loves to listen to Baby Einstein and he hates to take a bath. He is also a good burper!

Craig goes back to work and I am at home being a "stay home mom"..Boy, there is a lot to do! I thought i would have time to get things done, but all I am doing is washing bottles and washing clothes. I haven't taken any naps since Cameron came home, but I am feeling pretty good. We went out yesterday for a few minutes to grab lunch, then came right home. The only thing I am not doing is eating much, because just when I get ready to eat, he gets up. I've also been watching a lot of soap operas and I am finding myself crying, because some of them are so touching...and I love the Ellen show..

My Grandma who is 102 years old, turning 103

My grandma is amazing! I don't know how she does it, but she is still pretty sharp! She is turning 103 in a few months, and I cannot wait to celebrate with her...I love her!

The beach right by my parents house

This beach is 5 minutes from my parents house...it's called "the cove" or "eternity beach"..We love going to this beach because the water is crystal clear and calm..Craig and Mckenna went snorkeling and swam right next to a turtle..mckenna got scared and screamed. We usually take a swim here everyday, but we didn't get to this time, because we were at home with baby Cameron a lot.

This is our new family photo...Things have been going very smoothly here..we left Hawaii a few days ago, but I am still trying to add more pictures. it's been so great to sleep in our own bed and attempt to get in a routine with sleepless nights and getting up and getting Mckenna ready for school and trying to maintain some sort of balance between working, working out, and taking care of my dogs. So far, we have been sharing the responsibilities of getting up, so I am getting about 5 hours of sleep per night. I am not on shut down mode yet. We will post more pics.

I was having a great day with Craig and Mckenna at the Childrens Center. Do I look really tired? I sure don't feel it. I am wondering when it's all going to catch up to me. I've been getting a lot of tips about changing diapers and the most valuable one was to cover his privates when changing or he could shoot you in the eye...Well, he got my mom twice...When you are changing diapers in the middle of the night, he's crying, you just want to change him as fast as possible and I tried to do it without it...and I got sprayed in my hair and all over him...NO fun!Good lesson for me.."never take shortcuts!"

This is Cam just hanging out at home. It's been raining in Hawaii a lot, so we have been spending lots of time indoors. We have had a lot of visitors to the house, so Cam has been getting a lot of attention.

Cameron is 2 1/2 weeks old

Cameron turns 3 weeks old..I've been getting about 5 hours of sleep everynight, and I feel pretty good. We have been very lucky, because he eats, poops and sleeps like clockwork. I have been able to still workout and do things with Mckenna, so we haven't gotten too off track. We found out yesterday that in order for us to leave Hawaii with Cameron, we need to have approval from the family court here and we also need approval from California. We were a little nervous, because our tickets are for this Saturday. We got approval from Hawaii today and now we are just waiting for California..We have to pray we get it tomorrow, because Hawaii courts have Furlough Fridays...we feel pretty good that things will fall into place.

This is a picture of Mckenna as we were walking to the park...We walk to my Elementary School everyday and play on the playground. I just found out that they may be closing the school due to low attendance..that's really sad!

I was holding Cameron after his afternoon feeding and he was smiling, so I snapped this picture..he also has a dimple..it's really cute!

Today, cameron is one week old and we are managing pretty well. We have shifts at night..I usually take the 12-3am shift and Craig takes the 3-6am.. I usually get up at 7am and go to the gym, then when I come back, Craig goes to workout..We try to do something with Mckenna early morning to keep her busy. Today, she went to the beach and then we walked to the park with Cameron. He is now drinking 2 oz every 2-3 hours, and he sleeps a lot, so it great for us, since we can sleep for 2-3 hours at a time. He is a pretty easy going boy..he never really cries unless he's hungry, has to burp or has a dirty diaper. Its nice to have my family here to help me...i guess I have it easy right now, but when I go back to LA, reality will set in.

Here's is how my day went on February 22,2011

I get up Tuesday morning,and I have a text from the birth mother saying that her water broke, so I was besides myself...I took McKenna to school, then I went a got a massage to relax, which wasn't easy...then my phone started ringing off the hook...I was getting up to the minute updates and it looked like the birth mom was not going to deliver until later on that night, which would be perfect, since My flight was scheduled to arrive at 7:30 pm in hawaii. I tried to get on an earlier flight, but nothing was available, so I just kept to my original plan...I spent the day with my dogs explaining to them that I would be gone for a few weeks, and when I got back, I would be bringing home their brother...they just stared at me, and at one point laid down and rolled over...this moment brought back a lot of memories, because the last time I left them for a long time was when I left to get Mckenna from Kazakhstan. My eyes started to tear up, because it brought back all the emotions I had 5 years ago. What are the chances that I would be given this miracle??. Probably 1 in a million, what are the chances that it would be from my hometown??, and what are the chances that it would be born 2 days before my birthday, just like McKenna whose birthday is 2 days before Craigs birthday??? This was definitely meant to be and I am the luckiest person on this earth...I have everything I ever wanted in my life...a wonderful husband, a beautiful little girl named Mckenna, the best doggies, the most amazing family that supported me through my journey, and now Cameron to complete it. Well, the moment you've all been waiting for....here is Cameron Suzuki Burnett..

3 cm's now

The baby is 6 pounds and the birth mom is now 3cm...I just spoke to her and she is doing well. She is getting really big and wobbling around, but doing good overall...she is such an amazing women! I am leaving to meet her in 4 days and Craig will arrive a few days later. My family is getting the house ready and my cousin Tammy just gave us a lot of stuff to get started. I still haven't packed yet for my trip...I figured all i need are some clothes, slippers and my Vitality pills to keep me going. My next post will be in Hawaii...Stay tuned to meet Cameron!

2cm dilated

The birth mom is 2cm dilated...hmmm, can she stay at 2cm for another 2 weeks, or is it likely that she will deliver early...?? We shall see..She will see the doctor on Saturday, so we will have a better idea then. I will keep all of you posted..have a great Friday!

The name is IN!

It's official, Craig picked Cameron, and I added Suzuki as the middle name....It's a relief we got a name picked out, because we were just calling him the "boy"...Mckenna is getting excited and so am I. I am looking forward to celebrating with my girlfriends on Saturday which is being hosted by an amazing girlfriend named Lora. Thank you Lora!!! My best friend Jill is driving all the way up from San Diego and I got other girls driving up from Orange County...you guys are the best!!! I am also looking forward to celebrating an early Valentines Day with my amazing husband...I am planning it, because then, a few days later, we have to celebrate our 10 year Anniversary, which Craig will plan...Then, we are off to Hawaii to celebrate our new addition and my birthday..Wow, we are going to be busy.. Once again, thanks to all of you for your continued support and excitement...we couldn't have done it without all of you!!! Love you!

Update

The baby is six pounds and doing very well...We are still on schedule for a February 24th delivery, but who knows...I picked up a few newborn pajamas and shirts to bring to Hawaii with me, since I don't have anything there. My mom and dad are excited about our arrival and spending two whole weeks with a newborn. I asked my dad if he wanted us to stay somewhere else or maybe I could get him some Bose earphones to block the noise...he said "no", he would be fine. We still haven't pick the name...Craig asked me to email my list, and he would consider them...I think he is leaning towards Cameron...he does not like Logan, because he said it reminds him of Logan International Airport..he doesn't like Brayden, because he think the initials BB are a bit too much. I think we will have a name in about a week, so hang tight...I will post more pictures as they come to me..have a good day!!!

Introducing Burnett Baby #2

3 more weeks until baby2 is due

I am starting to get excited about our new arrival, but yet it seems too good to be true. I have been through so much, that it's really hard to believe that this is for real. I am working with an amazing birth mother, who i admire for her strength and unbelievable attitude. She has made this so easy for us. We also have a team of great attorneys in Hawaii and here in Marina Del Rey. I am always informed and they are always looking out for my best interest. We put together the crib this weekend and Mckenna has moved into another room, since the baby will take her room. She is very excited and can't wait to be a BIG sister, because she likes to be the Boss! Craig seems to be excited, but doesn't show it much, because he is tentative as well, because of all the heartache we have been through. I just have to say that I have been blessed and it seems that finally my day has come to have everything go my way...I couldn't ask for a better birthday, which is the due date of the baby.
